The most awaited concert!
Ben Howard grew up with the albums of Joni Mitchell, Donovan and Richie Havens, developing a great love for folk music which led him to soon pick up a guitar for himself. Howard learnt to play the instrument in parallel to his other great passion, surfing, and he certainly mastered the waves at the same time as he mastered music.
The surfing community was his first audience, and this only grew with a European tour when his debut album, Every Kingdom, was released in 2011. This was a platinum seller in the United Kingdom and earned him a Mercury Music Prize nomination.
Three years later, I Forget Where We Were was released, an album where he explored complex sounds without abandoning the intimacy of his delicate voice and guitar-playing, two valuable assets which have led to comparisons with John Martyn and Damien Rice.
If there was one thing the singer was missing out on, it was performing in a big festival in Barcelona, something he will remedy by performing with us at Cruïlla this summer in a concert which will certainly cause the odd tear to be shed.
