Alcalá Norte IN CONCERT AT FESTIVAL CRUÏLLA 2025!

The Post-Punk Revolution from Madrid Este

Alcalá Norte, an emerging band from Madrid Este, is set to release their self-titled debut album on April 17. Their project navigates between post-punk, melancholy, and a deep respect for the history of the Ciudad Lineal neighborhood, which they honor in every chord. ‘Alcalá Norte’ is more than a collection of eleven songs; it’s a manifesto exploring the social coordinates of the city and offering a new language to narrate the contemporary reality of this Madrid district.

The band, set to take the stage at the Festival Cruïlla 2025 on Saturday, July 12th, has managed to craft a sonic synthesis evoking a wide range of influences. From the melancholic touch of Joy Division to the solemnity of heavy metal, through the naïve pop of the 90s, all combined with the raw energy of punk and hints of bakalao. This rich sonic tapestry is evident in tracks like “Supermán” and “La Vida Cañón,” which blend post-punk laments with melodies akin to pop songs, while “420N” and “Los Chavales” reflect their post-punk roots with a distinctive bakalao twist.

Alcalá Norte is not just a band but a movement aiming to close the circle envisioned by urban planner Arturo Soria for Madrid. Their first album, produced by Carlos Elías Caballero and Pablo Fergus (La Cafetera), captures the authenticity of their message with a production that preserves the rawness and sincerity that define the group. This work also features special collaborations, such as keyboardist Suneo from the Chill Mafia collective and producer Adrián Bremner from Trippin You.

Alcalá Norte is a project seeking to resonate far beyond the borders of their neighborhood, with an album marking the start of a musical crusade filled with love, pain, and hope. The band will take the stage at the Cruïlla Festival to deliver their much-anticipated live performance: a bold sound and a raw, sincere perspective on the urban reality of Madrid Este.
